What’s Open in the Pacific Northwest – December 6th 2013 Update

La Conner, WA – The 2013-2014 winter season is happening in the Pacific Northwest with many resorts having begun operation prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday.  With the recent snow storms to pass through the region and ensuing cold weather more resorts have announced opening day and those already operating are offering more terrain.    Here is a rundown of what’s happening in the northwest:

Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, Washington.  Leavenworth Ski Hill will open the Tubing Park this weekend, Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 9:30AM-6:00PM.  The Leavenworth Ski Hill Lodge will be open during the Tubing Park operations.  For more information go to the website http://www.skileavenworth.com/conditions or contact Corey McKenna, Events & Marketing, 509-548-5477 or cmckenna@skileavenworth.com.

White Pass Ski Area, Washington.  Opening  Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8, 8:45 am – 4 pm with Great White, Chair 4, Basin Quad lifts.  Services available are: Day Lodge & High Camp food & beverage, rental and retail. Anthony Lakes, Oregon.  Opening for the season on Saturday, December 7 with operations each Saturday & Sunday, from 9am – 4pm until Sunday, December 15. Starting Saturday, December 21st, the resort is scheduled be open daily through January 5th for the holiday break, except closed Christmas Day. Whitefish Mountain Resort,  Montana.  Opening Saturday, December 7 for its 66th Winter Season with top-to-bottom skiing including Hellroaring Basin. Eaglecrest, Alaska.  Will open on Saturday, December 7 with the Porcupine Chair running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to service the Muskeg and Dolly Varden trails. A small terrain park feature will be set up on Dolly Varden.  Also open is the rental shop, Eaglecrest Grill and Mountain Lift Coffee and snowsports school offering  beginning ski and snowboard lessons. Stevens Pass, Washington.  In addition to the alpine area, the Nordic Center will be open this Saturday and Sunday, December 7th and 8th from 9am-4pm, conditions permitting with 16 kilometers of groomed runs for classic and skate skiing spread across nine trails.
